Going Casual for Kids!

April 2010

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and, in honor of that, Mt. Hope Family Center is hosting “Blue Jean Days - Going Casual for Kids”.  Participants will donate $5 for the chance to wear jeans to work or, wear a denim pin indicating their participation and support.  All proceeds directly benefit programs and families at Mt. Hope Family Center.

How can your company or group participate?

We provide you with promotional materials, blue jean pins, and collection receptacles prior to the event then come by the day after and collect everything.  That’s it!

Do you have to wear jeans?

No, you can wear anything denim or, if dressing down is not an option, wear one of our denim pins.  We will provide a tent card sign to place in your reception area to tell customers or clients the significance of the denim in your business that day.

What other ways can you increase our donation?

You can ask clients, customers or friends to join you with a $5 donation.  We will provide extra pins just in case.  Some companies will be donating their tips or a portion of their profit that day.  Other will be asking employees to consider brown bagging lunch and donating what they would have spent eating out.  Challenge another company, division, or floor to match or beat your donations.  There are many creative options.

What do we provide?

  • Blue jean pins for participating employees and some extras for clients or visitors who may want to participate
  • Promotional materials including: a sign for the staff lounge or bulletin board, newsletter text, and a tent card for the front desk telling your clients about your participation
  • A collection envelope

What do you get out of participating?

In addition to the knowledge that you are supporting one of the nation’s leading centers helping children affected by child abuse, we will acknowledge your participation in our newsletter, on our website, www.mthopefamilycenter.org and with daily Facebook page updates.
