Dante Cicchetti, Ph.D. inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences

Dante Cicchetti, Ph.D. is being inducted into the prestigious American Academy of Arts and Sciences in a ceremony in Boston.  The Academy was founded in 1780, and recognizes individuals who have had  an important impact on society.  The purpose of the Academy is “to cultivate every art and science which tend to advance the interest, honor, dignity, and happiness of a free, independent, and virtuous people.”   Dr. Cicchetti is being recognized for his transformative work in developmental psychology, particularly in the area of developmental psychopathology, and, in part, this stems from his work, past and present, at Mt. Hope Family Center.

Some of the individuals who have been elected to the Academy include John Adams, James Bowdoin, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Maria Mitchell, Alexander Graham Bell, Margaret Mead, Martin Luther King, Jr., among others.   More about the Academy: https://www.amacad.org/content.aspx?i=104
