2010 Conference
Join us for the 4th International SDT Conference
held at Ghent University in Belgium

May 13-16, 2010
Program will begin at 1 pm on Thursday, May 13th and continue through early afternoon on Sunday, May 16th
The upcoming conference will highlight talks from leading SDT researchers across the world. One of the main goals of the conference is to expose the tremendous and varied research in the SDT tradition.
The conference is now less than a year away and we thought it would be a good idea to encourage scholars to begin thinking about possible contributions to the conference. Click here for paper and poster submission guidelines and information. AND SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW OPEN, click here to submit.

CONFERENCE OVERVIEW
Features of the Conference:
- In addition to plenary talks by Edward Deci and Richard Ryan, experts in the field of SDT will be asked to present their most recent work.
- This time, several symposia will be organized that will deal with particular theoretical themes, including issues such as: need-thwarting; priming motivational orientations; SDT-based interventions; the nature of the concept of autonomy-support; the autonomy continuum; and goal-contents.
- Individual presentations selected from incoming submissions will be group into sessions of related topics (e.g., exercise, sustainability, laboratory experiments, work and unemployment, motivational profiles, psychotherapy, advanced methods being used in SDT research, education, health care, or whatever themes encompass the submitted papers). If you submit a paper, it is not necessary that you aim it toward a particular grouping. We will organize the groupings after papers are accepted for presentation.
- Several workshops will also be organized. Some workshops will focus on further orienting people to aspects of the field of SDT, whereas other workshops will focus on the generation and development of new ideas that might be addressed in future research.
- In addition to these academic incentives, we can guarantee you that Ghent is a nice town to visit and that we have both good chocolates and good beers in Belgium!
