2010 Conference

Submissions are NOW Open! Click here to submit.

Criteria for Submissions:

  • Submissions need to be empirical in nature. This implies that at least some data would need to be shown and described in the submitted abstract.
  • Individuals can submit only one paper or poster as the first author, although they can also serve as a co-author on multiple submissions.
  • As to facilitate the selection process, only faculty or post-doctoral researchers can submit papers for presentation. Doctoral students are invited to submit posters (see below). Although some of you might be disappointed that you are not provided the opportunity to orally present your work, we have chosen this format because it considerably simplifies the selection process.

Types of Presentations and Submission Guidelines:

  1. Individual paper -- Investigators can submit a proposal for a presentation of 15-20 minutes. The organizing committee will attempt to put individual papers together in sessions on the basis of substantive convergence between different individual papers.
To submit an individual paper, you will be asked to download and fill out a form, which will be available on the SDT website by the end of the summer. In this form you will be asked to provide some basic information about yourself. Further, you will be asked to provide:
    (a) a title for your paper (max. 130 characters)
    (b) an abstract (max. 250 words each)
    (c) a number of key words from a predetermined list.

  2. Posters will be free-standing research presentations and are scheduled for about 2 hours during lunch breaks. Each poster occupies one poster board for the entire session.
