Research Interests

My research interests focus on the adolescents' relationships with parents. Specifically, I am interested in how adolescents' development of autonomy affects adolescent-parent relationships. Additionally, I am interested in examining what factors influence adolescents' decisions to disclose or not disclose information about their everyday lives to their parents.

Presentations

Comer, J. E., & Smetana, J. G. (2010, March).  Associations between parent-adolescent discrepant perceptions of family decision-making and adolescents' disclosure to parents.  Poster symposium presented at the bi-annual meeting of the Society for Research on Adolescence, Philadelphia, PA.
