Research Interests

Currently I am interested in investigating the relationship between early childhood trauma and later aggression, violence and antisocial behavior, and the role of certain psychopathologies such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in mediating this relationship. I am also interested in the specific trauma-related factors (e.g., type, severity, chronicity) as well as other potential genetic and environmental influences that either increase vulnerability to various internalizing and externalizing disorders, or act as protective factors.

Other broad interests include psychopathy and its relationship to risk-taking behaviors in both non-clinical and forensic populations, as well as other personality traits and psychopathologies that influence risky and antisocial behavior. I hope to become involved in the development of empirically-supported prevention and intervention programs for adolescents and young adults who engage in risky, violent and criminal behaviors.
