~Jeffery Ilardi
there has been a boom in the area of childhood law. some of the areas in which opportunities exist are in drug counselling, after school programs, probation, residential programs, and anger management/general counselling. internships in the field of juvenile justice are usually available through the public defender, social services, etc.
~Ken Walsh
hillside children's center is a not-for-profit organization that focuses on residential and direct care children's services. their main effort is in preventing childhood problems. some job titles include Youth and Family Development Specialist and Social Worker. more immediately, internships for the summer are available, working with kids who need help with day-to-day functions. also, one can apply for a job at hillside.
~Todd Thrash
todd works with dr. elliot in achievement and motivation. the lab is looking for RA's to work with data coding, mets-analysis, and/or lab and data management.
~Kirk Warren Brown, Ph.D.
dr. brown is looking for RA's to work part-time on a national survey he is now conducting. the position would include mailing out the surveys and entering data.
~Bonnie Settlage
Bonnie works with dr. davies in marital conflict and its effects on children. they have paid and unpaid positions available for the summer.
~Tara Wilson
Tara spoke about creating one's own internship. to do so, one should contact both a professor and a community individual with whom you would want to work. creating your own internship allows you to gain experience in a field that you have much interest in, that is not offered on campus.
