Research Interests<\/strong><\/p>\n

Dr. Warmingham\u2019s research focuses on identifying the influence of childhood maltreatment exposure on lifespan and intergenerational physical and mental health with a focus on the perinatal period (pregnancy and postpartum). The goals of her research are: 1) to understand the effect of biological and psychological influences of maltreatment on parent and child physical and mental health and 2) identify opportunities for intervention in the transition to parenthood to help prevent long term and intergenerational maltreatment-related disparities in health and wellbeing.<\/p>\n

Dr. Warmingham is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of New York. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rochester and completed her predoctoral clinical internship at the University of Rochester Medical Center Department of Psychiatry (child\/adolescent track). Dr. Warmingham completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in Pediatrics at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, where she was a Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award T32 Fellow. Dr. Warmingham is deeply committed to interdisciplinary clinical and research collaboration to improve trauma-informed systems of care and improve health outcomes for children and their families.<\/p>\n
